Articles About Anthony Pescetti

and Super Spectrim

Dr. Anthony Pescetti (M.D. PhD. in Biochemistry and Pharmacology) The Father of Time Release, pioneer in the chelation of minerals and inventor of Super Spectrim.

Awarded by the Vatican as the greatest humanitarian in the world.

Developed time release formulas for over 500 different pharmaceutical items and food supplements including the cold remedy Contac and Geritol, which represent only a fraction of the thousands of formulas he constructed while embarking on a career in biochemistry.

TIME RELEASE: A Chemist's Breakthrough
(with a little help from W. A. Mozart)

The next time you swallow your timed-release vitamin, give a little thanks to the creators of time release — Dr. Anthony Pescetti and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Mozart?

Yes, Mozart. He had a very big supporting role in the discovery of the time-release process. It all happened 162 years or so after the death of the musical giant and in the very unmozartian setting of a New York pharmaceutical laboratory. There, Biochemist Anthony Pescetti was mulling over the problem that had intrigued him for years: how to create a timed-release formula that would provide a slow and controlled absorption of medication.

The Mozart connection is this: You can always tell if Anthony Pescetti is at home or in his laboratory. Just listen for the music. Where he is, so is his music.

“I have great satisfaction from my profession:" he says in an accent as thick as the pasta from his Sicilian homeland, “but music is the bread of my soul.”

Beethoven, Mozart and Verdi are the favorites. He listens not only with ears but also with voice and hands accompanying and directing the melodies and words he loves and knows by heart. His eyes will close. His expression is pure bliss.

Dr. Anthony Pescetti has spent nearly 50 years in the laboratory. There, among the flasks and compounds, is always a phonograph. To him, it is as essential an instrument as are the more recognizable tools of the chemist’s trade.

On July 2, 1952, the phonograph was turning as usual. “I had finished my regular lab work,” he recalls, “and I decided to devote some think time to the problem of time release. I have always been particularly enamored of Mozart’s Fortieth Symphony and his Twenty-First Piano Concerto. And on that afternoon I played these recordings and sat back and listened and hoped that the sublimity of the music might inspire me. Other solutions to other problems had come to me before while I listened to music. I played the symphony and then the concerto and then played them over again."

"It must have been around 4 or p.m. and suddenly the formulation for time release came perfectly clear into my mind. The music seemed to have stirred the formula loose from the mind’s reservoir of creative intelligence and then guided it out into the grasp of consciousness."

“Who can really understand creativity? Whether one is creating a beautiful poem or a beautiful piece of music or a chemical formula, there is something mystical, something divine, something totally joyous that transcends the mechanics of the process."

“The discovery of time release was the greatest creative joy in my life."

“For years I had been thinking about time release. This preoccupation began around 1939 when I visited a mental hospital and saw the doctor and nurse trying to get hold of a sick patient in order to administer the sedative. At the time I said to a friend who was with me, ‘what if some doctor, or pharmacologist or biochemist could develop a capsule or injection that would work for 12 or 24 hours so that they wouldn’t have to give the medication every few hours."

“Up until time release, you see, many drugs and sedatives had to be given every four hours because after four hours the potency. The activity of the drug was diminished and lost."

“For 13 years, the idea of time release had been like a hammer pounding at me, challenging my ability. Sometimes when I had finished my regular lab work, I would sit back, listen to the music, and try to figure out the puzzle. Finally, with the help of my friend Mozart, the solution came."

“I was excited as I gathered the instruments and ingredients I needed and set up an experiment. It was my first actual attempt. Could I be successful the first time? After setting everything up, I caught a taxi and headed for home in East Rockaway, which is quite a distance away I got home but I was too excited to remain. I called another taxi and returned to Manhattan. It was a Friday I stayed all that night in the lab. And I stayed Saturday and Sunday the experiment was working successfully. On Monday I sent samples to different laboratories with instructions on how to perform the experiment. Confirmation came back. The formula worked 100 per cent.”

"The basic idea of time release is to assure a regulated release of the medication or vitamin substance into the bloodstream after oral ingestion."

"People who take aspirin for a headache or their arthritic pain will get relief for up to four hours or so", explains Dr. Anthony Pescetti. “After that, the activity of the medication terminates. But if you can equip the aspirin with time release you have so many milligrams being released after 10 minutes, and so many more after four hours, and then eight hours and 12 hours."

In 1960, Dr. Anthony Pescetti developed a timed-release aspirin.

The problem with standard medication and vitamins taken orally is that once down the hatch you don’t really know entirely what is happening as the tablet runs a gauntlet of acids, juices and enzymes. Imagine trying to run through the Pittsburgh Steelers line. It is seriously going to affect your shape and biological activity the same with the tablet.

The digestive gauntlet causes a whole range of changes to the swallowed ingredient. With regular vitamins and minerals there are all sorts of chemical reactions and transformations leaving the extent of the biological activity and absorption of the nutrient in question.

Enter time release.

“The idea,” says Dr. Anthony Pescetti, “is to coat the vitamins and minerals to react to the digestive onslaught in a calculated way. My original 1952 coating was with tree shellac and castor oil. Now, I use a coating from corn protein, which is better. In a multi-vitamin and mineral tablet you want to isolate and coat each separate ingredient with different thicknesses for release at different times. One coating will disintegrate on contact with the stomach acid and release the nutrients about 10 minutes after ingestion. The next release comes at around four hours in contact with the digestive juices of the small intestine. Four hours later, near the end of the small intestine, another combination of vitamins and minerals are keyed to release. Finally, around the entrance of the large intestine, the last dose should be released. Twelve hours have gone by."

“Normally the blood level of a particular vitamin or mineral will go up and then down following ingestion of a regular tablet. But with time release there is the gradual release and the blood levels remain more constant. Thus there is activity and benefit from the nutrient over a longer period of time. If you take the time release in the morning, you will have all the vital vitamins and minerals releasing throughout your busy day.”

Dr. Anthony Pescetti’s original formula was applied to an anti-obesity medication he was preparing for a pharmaceutical company. Since that time he has developed timed-release formulas for 100 different medication and food supplement products.

That represents, however, only a fraction of the more than one thousand formulas he has constructed since embarking on a career of biochemistry in 1932 as a fresh immigrant Ph.D. from Sicily.

Now, at the age of 70, he would “like to retire, with God’s Grace, and just listen to music.” But he really loves his work, his laboratory and helping people too much to retire. Lately, he has been busy setting up a new laboratory in Spring Valley, California, near San Diego, so his friends don’t take his retirement threats too seriously.

In recent years, in Europe, Dr. Anthony Pescetti developed special vitamin and mineral formulas for use in serious diseases like diabetes, cancer and arthritis. For five years, he and a team of physicians administered these formulas in a clinic in his native Sicily

The results were “very encouraging,” he reports.

Dr. Anthony Pescetti says he has been concerned all his professional life with the problem of absorption. Why, he asks, do so many people receive no benefit—or very little benefit—from taking supplements? Timed release was one of his answers to the problem.

Another was mineral chelation.

“People think of supplements primarily as vitamins, but they are in error. Vitamins are of course what we maintain good health with. But minerals comprise the foundation of the body. Mankind has gotten its minerals from vegetables and fruits. From the soil. But today our soil is horribly depleted. The vital mineral content of food is getting lower and lower. So it is important to supplement it with minerals."

"But there is a problem. Simply put it is this: The body has no power to grab the ions (the atoms and molecules) of the inorganic mineral. Very little is able to pass through the intestinal wall for absorption into the bloodstream. A woman takes supplemental iron and little of it is absorbed. Most goes out the colon and colors the stool black and the woman is still on the anemic side even though taking the extra iron. Only two or three per cent of the iron has been absorbed. With zinc, maybe only 14 per cent of that mineral is absorbed.

“Amino acid chelation, developed by the late Dr. John Miller of Chicago, increased the absorption of minerals to some extent.

“Chelation comes from the Greek and means ‘to hook.’ The inorganic mineral is hooked to an organic compound (the amino acid) which holds the mineral in a chemical claw. Through this manner more of the mineral is permitted through, thus increasing the amount of absorption. But-personally I feel there is still a better agent for chelation than amino acid and that is a combination of ascorbic acid and citric acid. The cell lining of the duodenum has great efficiency to absorb such acids regardless what mineral is linked to them. For years I have been using and testing this formula with minerals and have attained much more absorption than through the amino acid chelation. I honestly feel this is the key to mineral absorption for the future."

“In Sicily for example, we used a special formula for diabetics. Zinc and chromium were chelated to ascorbic acid and citric acid. The results were very promising. These two minerals—zinc and chromium—are essential for the pancreas. If it receives them, it can start to function again and manufacture its own insulin as long as there has been no physical damage to the pancreas."

Questions to Dr. Anthony Pescetti:
Q—You say timed release is the best way to take vitamins and minerals. What is the state of the art of timed release today and what do you see for the future?

A—”We are still in the embryonic stage of timed-release technology I feel the future will bring development of topical timed release, a supplement you apply on the skin like a cream. This way the many known and unknown chemical reactions of the digestive tract are avoided.

Another timed-release concept, and perhaps not in the very far distant future, would be to implant a tablet under the skin that would contain a 100-day supply of nutrients. It disintegrates slowly over that period of time. For diabetics, an insulin tablet could be devised on this principle. As far as timed-release products today are concerned, the industry is trying continually to improve the quality. Some tablets disintegrate quickly too soon, really in under four hours. There is no way the average consumer can test the efficiency of a product. I recommend that the buyer seek out a product that claims a timed-release capability over a specific period of time, such as eight or 12 hours, which I believe to be the most ideal time spans."

Q—You left your native Sicily almost 50 years ago as a young man. Recently you returned in the capacity of a clinical biochemist. What did you notice about the health of the people?

A—”When I left in 1932, the people were healthy. They ate simply .The farmers would have their raw milk, real cheese, and eggs from chickens without hormones and chemicals. Now, when I returned, they are not in good health.

Not just one person, but many in the family are unwell. They eat the wrong food. They eat meat twice a day. They eat food with pesticides, arid everything is contaminated with chemicals. People who still live closer to nature are healthier. People in the cities who eat more commercial food are less healthy. They have cancer, stomach and liver problems. From some families came the grandparents, the parents. the children, all with the same sicknesses. I saw a lot of them, sick from the fried foods and junk oil and sugar and white flour. It wasn’t the same people as when I left Sicily", nor has medical science been the same as it was before Dr. Anthony Pescetti gave us the blessings of his timed-release accomplishments.

I am sort of a liaison officer of Dr. Anthony Pescetti a man awarded by the Vatican as the greatest humanitarian in the world and a man that has cured, yes cured, a multitude of people of various diseases. He is the 'father of time release' and the originator of Super Spectrim, the latest 12 hour time release, synergistic food supplement and, are the arm benders, bodybuilders and weightlifters happier, as well as many other athletes. Since nearly all are making great gains in their endeavors athletically.

Dr. Anthony Pescetti is a Christian with the intelligence of Einstein and the benevolence of Schweitzer. At the age of 75 he still is researching and aiding and curing people, treating them all with the same impartiality, whether they are broke or rich. Especially rich in common sense and alert too, to weigh new ideas on their own merits, such as realizing a super body and super strength can be developed without steroids by using a Pescetti formula TriMin and Super Spectrim together ... so? So throw away those syringes, Dianabols, Deca-Durabolin and other noteworthy murderers and realize many have had to use the well known kidney machines and have gotten deathly sick and deathly dead. But happily we can say that under proper supervision, we have had fellows healthier than ever and in five months making 2”” gains on every body part but the waist, but how? With Super Spectrim and Tri-Min together and liver and aminos every three hours on the hour, supplemented with milk and egg protein and a nearly all vegetable and fruit diet with beans and rice eaten before 2 p.m. along with corn and potatoes. Lots of water and, of course, thinking the muscles are growing with each rep and workout.

Dr. Anthony Pescetti has spent nearly 50 years in the laboratory and being a fine musician and appreciator of Beethoven, Mozart and Verdi—he listens and knows them by heart and this is how he developed time release actually listening to the Twenty First Piano Concerto and Mozart’s Fortieth Symphony. “The music seemed to have stirred the formula of creative intelligence and then guided it out into the grasp of my consciousness. The discovery of time release was the greatest joy of my life. For years I’d been thinking of time release, especially around 1939 when I visited a mental hospital and saw the doctor and nurse, trying to get hold of a sick patient in order to administer the sedative. At the time, I said to a friend, “What If some doctor, pharmachologist or biochemist could develop a capsule or injection that would work for 12 to 14 hours or more, say 24, so they wouldn’t have to give medication every few hours and the patient then would be literally stabilized?’

Well, Dr. Anthony Pescetti was that medical doctor and the biochemist and the pharmacologist. For 13 years it challenged him and, “Finally, with the help of my friend Mozart, the solution came. I was so excited after setting everything up for the test and took a taxi from East Rockway heading for home and grabbed another taxi and came back to the lab, stayed Saturday and Sunday and the experiment was working successfully and on Monday, I sent samples with instructions on how to perform the experiment. Confirmation came back, the formula worked 100 percent.”

So we have it, time release everything, thanks to the good doctor, who gives all credit to God, not obsequiously either, truly humbly. The reason the proper synergistic, time release is superior is an answer to the problem of down the hatch vitamins, you really don’t know what is happening as the tablet runs the gauntlet of acids, juices and enzymes, like an ordinary man trying to run through the Redskins or Steelers football line, it would seriously impair and affect the shape of the poor, if still living ordinary man, so with the tablet.

So the idea that works is to “coat” the vitamins and minerals to react in a calculated way. Calculated so that full 100 percent absorption is available and not a mere 5 percent as most purchased nutrients sold in the name of health. It is not just vitamins but also minerals that are vital. For instance, vitamin E cancels out iron if taken together, etc., yet people swear that their supplements are best, yet are sick, make little or no gains and pump steroids and later suffer and die. Not any more and even though the body has no power to absorb and grab the ions (the atoms and molecules) of the inorganic mineral (example: when a woman takes supplemental iron) very little is absorbed and consequently black stools and then having children born with ridged gums as the result of too much iron is prevented. Normally when women take additional supplemental iron, only 3 percent is absorbed and they over limit the blood and still remain anemic even with the extra iron.

With zinc? Maybe 14 percent is absorbed, so in men we have? You guessed it, prostate trouble. Please at this time, ask yourself, “Do I know someone with prostate trouble that takes a lot of supplements?” Zinc absorption is the key factor and without proper chelation, such as the inorganic mineral is ... hooked... (from the Greek. . .“to hook”) to the organic compound (the amino acid) which hold the mineral in a chemical claw and there is even a better agent for chelation than amino acid and that is a combination of ascorbic acid’ and Citric acid but the cell lining of the duodenum has great efficiency to absorb such acids regardless of what mineral is linked to them.

The reason Tri-Min is better, like Humulin (what is better than the body’s own manufacturing of its own Insulin?). Nothing, furthermore, it’s less likely to provoke allergic reactions in diabetics than animal derived insulin. However, we always suggest you please see your personal doctor first if your situation is diabetic. Control is the key, but it’s easier with the proper constituents and for super and super healthy gains to the non-diabetic bodybuilder, Super Spectrim and Tri-Min are like a shot from the future.

Considering the philosophy too of Dr. Anthony Pescetti, in his humbly acknowledging the Creator, reminds me of Einstein and Dr. Robert A. Milliken, the Dean of American Scientists, who said respectively, “It’s enough for me to contemplate the mystery of conscious life perpetuating itself throughout all eternity and to try humbly to conceive or comprehend even an infinitesimal part of the intelligence (manifested) in nature and Milliken.

There is a Divinity that shapes our ends, how we fit into the hands of the great Architect we do not know, but fit in we certainly do somehow or else we would not have a sense of our own responsibility. Wise men of all ages have at least made them reverent of a Supreme Being and a purely materialistic philosophy to me is the height of un-intelligence.”

When we observe such great men making such statements and giving credit to God for discoveries of good and new things for humanity, it sometimes makes one feel a natural commaradery with such as Dr. Anthony Pescetti, this is one of the reasons I’m happy to be his liaison officer and share with readers the good and new facts.

Watch the Olympics and if you’re an entrant, Super Spectrim can only enhance your performance and if you’re in school, your memory to boot. Remember, planning inevitably outruns performance and we have within our midst the Pescetti Phenomenon. It seems to happen every so many centuries and then? A Beethoven, Newton, an Einstein, yet all of them admitted that Genius rusts for want of use and as Edison stated, he made 10,000 mistakes before the electric light and “there were no more to make.” So keep sticking to those goals with sticktotiviness and perhaps the good doctor will be a word to the wise and not otherwise. Are we willing to weigh new ideas on their own merits? If so, then there is only success ahead, you can only have success and advance and you know what? I believe you will and good health to you.
