A—”We are still in the embryonic stage of
timed-release technology I feel the future will bring development of topical
timed release, a supplement you apply on the skin like a cream. This way the
many known and unknown chemical reactions of the digestive tract are avoided.
Another timed-release concept, and perhaps not in
the very far distant future, would be to implant a tablet under the skin that
would contain a 100-day supply of nutrients. It disintegrates slowly over that
period of time. For diabetics, an insulin tablet could be devised on this
principle. As far as timed-release products today are
concerned, the industry is trying continually to improve the quality. Some tablets disintegrate quickly too soon, really
in under four hours. There is no way the average consumer can test the efficiency
of a product. I recommend that the buyer seek out a product that
claims a timed-release capability over a specific period of time, such as eight
or 12 hours, which I believe to be the most ideal time spans."
